Cheeseburger Frittata

Cheeseburger Frittata

This Cheeseburger Frittata has all the flavor of a juicy burger in a high-protein, easy-to-meal-prep breakfast (or dinner!). It’s packed with simple ingredients, full of flavor, and can be made with whatever ground meat you have on hand, chicken, turkey, or beef.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken, turkey, or beef (macros based on chicken)
  • ½ medium yellow onion, diced
  • 8 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk of choice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • Dash of pepper
  • Optional: a TBSP of your favorite hot sauce for added flavor
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (I like this brand of organic sharp cheddar)
  • 1 medium tomato, diced

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F
  2. In a large oven-safe skillet, sauté the ground meat and onion over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess liquid if needed.
  3. Spread the cooked meat and onion mixture evenly on the bottom of the skillet (or transfer to a pie dish if you prefer).
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, pepper, and hot sauce (if using).
  5. Layer the cheese and diced tomato on top of the meat mixture.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over everything.
  7. Bake for 20–30 minutes, or until the center is set. (It may still bubble slightly when it’s ready - that’s okay!)
  8. Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
